What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that helps people to reduce pain, restore movement and improve their physical function and quality of life. At The Dales Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic, I work with people of all ages who are recovering from injury, managing pain or dealing with longer-term musculoskeletal problems.

Your physiotherapy
will be tailored to you.

Every person and every injury is different, so your physiotherapy will be tailored to you. Your assessment and treatment plan will take into account your individual problem, your goals, occupation, hobbies, sport, lifestyle, medical history and the time you have available for rehabilitation.

Help you return to the things that are important to you

My aim is not simply to treat your symptoms, but to understand what may be contributing to your problem and help you return to the things that are important to you - whether that is everyday activities, work, exercise, sport or simply moving with less pain and more confidence.

Depending on your needs, treatment may include:

I have experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including spinal and joint problems, sports and occupational injuries, muscle, tendon and ligament injuries, arthritis, nerve pain, headaches and migraine, vestibular problems, post-operative rehabilitation and pregnancy-related pain.

What does “Chartered Physiotherapist” mean?

The title Physiotherapist is protected by law in the UK. To practise as a physiotherapist and use this title, an individual must complete an approved physiotherapy qualification and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Many physiotherapists are also members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), the professional body for physiotherapists in the UK.
